About

Education and Work Experience

A native of Berlin, Germany, I moved to the US my last year of high school. I graduated from UMASS with a Bachelor in Science in Communication Disorders (Psychology and Spanish minors), then went on to earn my Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology at Teachers College, Columbia University, NY. Upon graduating, I had the fortune to work as part of a multidisciplinary team at the Children’s Evaluation and Rehabilitation Center (CERC) of Albert Einstein College of Medicine in the Bronx for the next 10 years, serving children of all ages and with a wide spectrum of diagnoses. I also supervised graduate interns during this time.

When leaving New York and starting a family on the Jersey Shore, I began performing comprehensive speech/language/developmental evaluations with Marilyn Agin, MD at Developmental Behavioral Pediatrics New York for 5 years, with a particular focus on (early) diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD), language- and learning-disabilities, and Childhood Apraxia of Speech (CAS). This is also when I started working part-time in the Early Intervention system of NJ as part of the Family Resource Associates team, who I have had the pleasure to be part of for more than 15 years now.

My private business has been growing for more than a decade, where I have been specializing in providing personalized, expert speech-language services for children with a variety of ages and needs, working closely with parents, caregivers, and teachers to optimize progress.

Interests & Certifications

My interests, experience, and clinical approaches in the field of pediatric speech-language pathology are varied. Post-graduate training includes additional training in CAS (including PROMPT Level I & II [Prompts for the Restructuring of Oral-Motor Targets] and DTTC), Specific Language Impairment (SLI) and auditory/language -processing difficulties, feeding/picky eating, social/pragmatic language skills, play development, narrative/literacy development and phonemic awareness, and early intervention.

I am licensed in New Jersey and certified by the American Speech-Language Hearing Association (ASHA). I largely provide services in English, but am also professionally proficient in Spanish and a native speaker of German.
